Celebrating a patient’s fundraising success!

Our patient, Maksim, is a world-traveler, sports enthusiast, nature-lover, and people-person who has had more amazing experiences than we can count! Now he can add another accomplishment to his long and impressive resume: fundraising superstar!

Maksim’s team—Maksim’s Squad—raised an astounding $7,185, of which $2,500 was raised by Maksim himself!

Maksim and his family are longtime supporters of CHLA where he is a regular patient. To show their sincere gratitude for the care they receive, Maksim wanted to participate in this year’s Walk and Play L.A, a fun community event that gives patients, their families and friends, and CHLA staff and faculty the opportunity to walk in solidarity to celebrate and support CHLA’s life-giving healthcare services.

Maksim’s desire was to raise funds for the Neurology/Neurosurgery Department and the Pet Therapy Program. With this goal in mind, he geared up to work hard on the fundraising. Together with his family, Maksim made signs to encourage donations and even helped them re-paint his Halloween costume (which has taken on many forms over the years!) into a fresh LA Kings Zamboni so he could show his Kings support for CHLA. Although Maksim and his family are Kings fans, their primary intention was to bring awareness to the Kings Care Foundation, which is another outstanding organization they support.

And, boy, did his hard work pay off! Maksim’s family is extremely proud of the effort he put forth to raise funds for CHLA, and so are we! Maksim’s team—Maksim’s Squad—raised an astounding $7,185, $2,500 of which was raised by Maksim himself! They even ranked eighth out of the Top 10 fundraising teams for 2018!

Premier was also a proud sponsor of this event and we were thrilled to see Maksim and his squad in action. His mom, Maki, was excited to see us as there and said, “It was nice to see Premier represented this year. I enjoyed having the chance to meet the team members who attended—they seem really happy about working for Premier. It speaks volumes when employees show their genuine enthusiasm about their job!” We couldn’t agree more!

Maksim’s mom shared with us that he “…has a sense of humor and a heart of gratitude.” His generosity and dedication to working hard to achieve such an impressive and selfless goal are a testament to this. Congratulations, again, to Maksim on his amazing achievement—we’re looking forward to hearing about his many successes to come!

After telling everyone that Lorem ipsum, the nonsensical text that comes with PageMaker, only looks like Latin but actually says nothing, I heard from Richard McClintock, publication director at the Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, who had enlightening news
