National Nurses Week 2018 Recap

National Nurses Week 2018 (May 6-12) has officially come to a close! Throughout the week, we made sure to take a few moments each morning to express our sincere gratitude to those who make what we do possible: our nurses! We also maximized the opportunity by sharing valuable resources and articles that communicate how important nursing is in the world.

We thank our nurses for everything they are:

  • Guiding lights to our patients
  • Calm under pressure
  • The true heart of Premier

Our nurses continually create exceptional experiences for our customers.

When you think of nurses, you may recall how they treated you or a loved one. Nurses cater to each individual patient as the unique individuals they are and commit to memory important details that can brighten someone’s day. That thoughtful and simple gesture illustrates their attention to detail and how much they really care about their patients and their families. Nurses constantly place others’ needs above their own no matter how tired they are or how difficult their day has been. Our nurses strive to be teachers to their patients and are forever students who are always looking for ways to improve their skills and broaden their knowledge base. It is for these reasons and more that our nurses continually create exceptional experiences for our customers.

To culminate the week, our Home Health offices held a series of Open House celebrations to recognize our nurses. The Open Houses were fun-filled events where local patients and their families were also invited to join in on the festivities. The offices had raffles, delicious treats, and even fun activities for the kids in attendance! We also shared some inspiring quotes from Florence Nightingale, an empowered woman who made countless contributions to nursing, and an enticing ‘Food for Thought’ exercise for our nurses to ponder.

Although National Nurses Week has ended, it serves as a gentle reminder that we should be celebrating nurses every day for the selfless work they do. It is our hope that we are able to continue to inspire and build an atmosphere of gratitude for our nurses today and every day.

After telling everyone that Lorem ipsum, the nonsensical text that comes with PageMaker, only looks like Latin but actually says nothing, I heard from Richard McClintock, publication director at the Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, who had enlightening news
